Maths!

Throughout the week I have missed some of my maths lessons but I have made progress in my 6x, 7x and my 9x tables, I'm sure that next week (when I attend every lesson) my sparkline (the progress bar on the far right) will have shot right up! 

I'm in Sharon's math group. Lately we have been learning about tenths and bar graphs.

Career Day 2019

On Wednesday the 19th of June 2019, my class had a career day. We took a quiz on the careers Nz website, it had 78 questions all about what our strengths are and about what we enjoy. Then after we took the test we would get a list of jobs that matched our answers to the quiz. So if you said you liked law enforcement then the quiz would put being a police officer in your list of potential jobs. You then narrowed down the list to your five favourite jobs. You would then choose one to research and then later make a presentation about it for the year 6 career day. What is the year 6 career day you ask? The year 6 career day is the day where we show our work such as reports, slideshows, posters, etc... To the year 6's so they can learn more about the things you have to do, work toward and achieve to get certain Jobs. In the end I decided to research detectives! I made a poster and some brochures! Everyone loved my stall! I gave all my brochures away and the career day was a huge success!

Reading/Writing
This year I was put in Sharon's literacy group. I have done many things this year including poems, short stories, full length stories, etc... But my personal favorite thing to do has to be making posters and brochures for the career day in term 2! We had to choose what career we wanted when we were older, I chose a detective/private investigator.

Mathematics
I was put in Sharon's math at the start of the year (I'm still in her group btw.) I really enjoy being in Sharon's math group! I have learnt lots of new stuff and I think that I have really understood what Sharon has been explaining! 

My Plans For The Future...

In five years time, I hope to see myself studying law enforcement and criminal justice at the University of Canterbury. I plan to go to high school (Avonside Girls) for the full extent of time you are able to attend. I know that I do want to take a year off and travel to places I have never been too (But education comes first).
